CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme - Refresher

This course is for candidates who have previously passed the full Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme or subsequent refresher course and can provide proof of attendance.

It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up to date and give a thorough overview of legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course is completed in person at your location or at our training centre (contact us to arrange a suitable venue).

Anyone currently holding a valid Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme certificate that is due to expire.

This 1-day course provides an opportunity to revisit the wide range of topics from the 2-day course including:

The course content includes:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Current enforcement priorities / HSE / Environment.
  • Fire risk and emergency procedures and reporting.
  • Best practice updates on Noise and vibration, Dermatitis, Asbestos, Drugs and alcohol and Stress factors.
  • Dynamic risk assessment procedures.
  • Hazardous substances.
  • Working at heights.
  • Manual handling.
  • Toolbox Talks.

Assessment

  • The paper consists of 22 multiple choice questions and three short written questions. There are four safety critical questions in each exam paper, the delegate must answer all four of these questions correctly to pass the exam.
  • The examination pass mark is 80% (24 out of 30). The examination lasts for 30 minutes and delegates are permitted to use the provided CITB publication for the last 10 minutes of the exam.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate valid for five years.
